Hello! My name is Kera. I have always had a love for the Macabre and never truly understood the disgust others show, I didn't truly
start exploring art outside of singing until my Sophomore year in high school. That is to say, my Theatre teacher always had my back and told me one day that he would love to go to a gallery viewing of my own design, Thank you Mr. Scheuer for being my first fan. I love my bold lines and the way I shade, the way I start with an eye and the piece just comes to me from that.
Each work of art Ben Edwards creates, its scale, textures, and material composition is originated by the discovery of found materials. An insatiable recycler and scavenger, the foundation of his practice involves using materials that have lived at least one life, including found recycling found artworks and his own creations. In the tradition of Rauschenberg, the materials he sources come from his local community, and the techniques he uses are based upon traditional craft and DIY methods, like woodworking, quilting, and cooking learned from a queer life lived on a tiny budget in Arkansas. He is also an artist who uses the body as medium in live performance.
We will have hours soon.... We promise :)
