Aly Hubbard loves things that are beautiful. Her body of work primarily focuses on individuals she interacts and builds relationships with across her personal community. She aims to embody the personality of each person she depicts, delving into their interests and drawing inspiration from their daily routines, oftentimes taking discarded objects directly from the subject’s use and placing them onto the canvas. She is drawn to ballpoint pens, but uses any material she can get her hands on, exploring the opacity of mediums as well as how highly rendered subjects are in conversation with less rendered elements.
Specialization: Capturing moments in our region of Arkansas based in Garfield, AR
Born and raised in Warren, AR being the only kid of my parents which had an abusive relationship. Moved to Little Rock the night of graduation to escape. Dated Helen through high school and got married to her shortly after arriving. Got my engineering degree by 2000. Moved to NWA in 2007. Bought a camera for my wife in 2022 and began using it myself since she was not. I discovered I had an eye for photography and began exploring this by doing mini vacations locally within a 2 hours' drive of home to capture locations in our area that are rarely seen online. I've discovered there are many gems that are not shown online and have been working to document them. My other great subject of photography is Colorado since it inspires the most peace in me. I have found that the majority of photos I focus on are ones that calm me personally.
Artist Jennifer Baugh believes that our increasingly fast-paced world can leave many feeling disconnected and overwhelmed. Through her artwork and immersive exhibits, she seeks to create a spaces where individuals can find solace, stimulation, or simply a new perspective.
"It is my hope that these drawings will challenge the viewer to look at the world a little differently. Perhaps engage with people differently," she explained. "We are not bound by our circumstances, labels, or the way we are perceived by others."
We will have hours soon.... We promise :)
